All About J.C. Cottom
I am a full-time author and stay-at-home parent. I grew up in the Navy and served in the Army as a Combat Medic before receiving a medical discharge. I lived in three countries, changed schools fourteen times growing up, and now live in Branson, MO with my four children and two rat terriers; Snoopy and Sassy.
I always dreamed of being an author since I won a writing contest in the third grade and as a reward went to a writing conference and met a real author. I thought that was what I wanted to do. It was not until I became a disabled vet that I was able to live out that dream, mostly because I have nothing else to do with my time but write.
I am working on my first novel, Dark Slumber, and hope to have the first draft completed by summer 2016. It is a paranormal romance where my main character, Holly McKenzie, goes on a ghost hunting investigation of an old insane asylum for a research paper and finds out that ghosts are more than real and now haunt her because of a mysterious connection she has to the doctor who ran the asylum.
