Requirements

• Must be unpublished in full length fiction (40,000+) for the genre entering/or not published in genre entering for past 5 years
• First 20 pages of manuscript
• OPTIONAL synopsis (New)
• Entry received by DEADLINE: August 8, 2008

Category Guidelines

• Erotic: a story with FF&P element(s) and high level of sensuality and graphic sex, but is still a romance
• Fantasy: romance containing elements of magic, mythology, fairies, dragons, sword& sorcery, hobbits, elves, etc.
• Futuristic: romance set in a future time, or with Star Trek/Star Wars elements; spaceships, other planets, blasters, light sabers, futuristic weaponry, alternative modes of travel, aliens
• General Paranormal: romance containing ghosts, witches, vampires, werewolves, darker elements, Gothicism
• Time Travel: romance set in two different time periods with the hero, heroine, or both traveling between times
• Romantic Elements: a story with FF&P element(s) that contains a romance but not as the central subject of the plot
• Young Adult (New): romance containing FF&P elements aimed at teen and young adult readers.

Prizes

• All finalists receive a certificate & (NEW) and an OTFS finalist banner to display on website.
• Winners of each category receive a check for $20, a pin, (NEW) an OTFS winner website banner, and a certificate.
• 2nd Place receives a check for $15 and a certificate
• 3rd place receives a check for $10 and a certificate
